Free Print w/ Session! {Pleasanton, Dublin and San Ramon Family Photographer} Artistic Captures Photography

I never liked using the word “free” in a title, it’s a bit tacky and usually intended to grab attention, but in this case I really couldn’t think of a better way to describe what I’m announcing.   It truly fits the bill.

As most know, a custom photography session fee does not typically include any prints or digital files.    That session fee covers the shooting time, developing time in my digital darkroom, the props that I bring to your session, and your proofs in a password protected gallery.     Although the session time is tyically 60-90 minutes, it’s not uncommon to spend many hours not only touching up images, but adding artistic elements that are time consuming and take a great deal of thought and creativity.     That is what makes every session unique in my mind!

It’s nearly unheard of for a photographer to offer anything to clients with that session fee in terms of prints or products since that is typically handled separately by ordering from a selection of print, digital and studio boutique items.    But, I’ve never really liked this… and being the rule-breaker that I am, I have always wanted to structure my own business in such a way that each client  walks away with something from that session.    I just haven’t had time to think about what to offer until recently.      And I’m so thrilled with what I’ve come up with, you will be too!

Initially, I called this a “gift” on all of my marketing materials but I soon had calls and emails from prospective clients asking if they could be told what the gift was.    I could understand that -  it was very vague.    And knowing what they were getting added value in their minds and perhaps helped them to make a very important decision.    So, no more vagueness.

Here’s how it works… after your paid session and I have posted your gallery images, you may select any image of your choosing for a 12X12 mounted, designer print which normally sells for $95.00.     If you are anything like me, you won’t even wait until placing your full order – you’ll want that print ordered right away because how exciting to receive one of your images right away.     When I say “designer” I really meant it – the mounted print comes with a beautiful but neutral design surrounding it.     There is plenty of space (as you will see in the sample below)  to add text.     I absolutely love this layout and you can either frame it or put it in an easal.     I am loving easals these days and I can tell you where to find a wonderful selection of nice ones.      After selecting your image, the print arrives in about 7 days.     You can certainly place your full order at the same time or you can take the full allotted time of your hosted gallery;  but, at least you will know that you will be receiving a gorgeous and large print.

Again this is a $95 value and I’m so excited to now give it away to my wonderful clients with any paid session.     Oh, and here is my studio sample, it is sitting in an easal which is how I really like to showcase my mounted prints these days… mainly because we have run out of wall space:)

To book a session with Dayna Titus of Artistic Captures Photography and receive your FREE mounted print, please email artisticcaptures@comcast.net or call 925.922.4670.     Artistic Captures Photography serves Pleasanton, Dublin, Livermore, Sunol, Danville, Alamo, Fremont, San Ramon and Walnut Creek and surrounding areas.

Peanut Butter Cup {Pleasanton & Danville Family and Child Photographer} Artistic Captures Photography

Sorry about the title to these images, it’s totally a little “hint” about this little one’s name;  I never give away names on this blog to protect clients’ privacy, but she has the sweetest name to go along with the face, and everytime I see her images from our session, I just think how she has the best name to go along with the sweet face.

Although I already previewed her images, I’m putting up some more because I had some extra time this week.     Please enjoy, and thank you to all who have already contacted me about booking those holiday sessions.    Doing so well in advance is such a great idea!    I know it’s still 90 degrees out and who wants to think about the holidays but trust me -  in November when everyone else is scrambling to book their session, buy their outfits, and stressing to pick out their images for their cards to get them out in time, you will be oh-so-happy you were one step  ahead.     It’s like doing all of your holiday shopping in September to avoid the malls on December 24th:)

To book your session, simply contact Dayna Titus of Artistic Captures at artisticcaptures@comcast.net or call 925.922.4670

I am happy to provide pricing information by email or regular mail -  to those who have asked, I do not keep detailed pricing information on my website because I am continually adding to my studio boutique line, so to get the most current Collection pricing and Studio offerings, it’s best if I email or snail-mail that to you.     However, my weekday session fee is $175 and weekend is $200.    A session fee covers your 1-2 hour session for up to 5 members of the same immediate family, at least one location (we try for more than one!), clothing advice and input, a phone consultation a week prior to your session to answer any questions and review our session plans, and about 20-25 fully edited proofs presented to you online in a password-protected gallery.     Again, please contact me for more information, I am happy to go over the details with you!

Back to School = Backpack Bagtags {Pleasanton & Dublin Family Photographer} Artistic Captures Photography and Design

Tomorrow marks the first day of school in many school districts in my area, so I couldn’t think of a better time to update this fantastic Artistic Captures Photography Studio Boutique item.    I just adore these and they are super cost-effective, functional and gorgeous to boot.   A great way to make use of your images with me is to order a bagtag.    What do you do with them?      My school-aged clients use them to tether onto their backpacks (especially my Seniors, it’s a great way to show off your favorite image from your Senior sesh!), preschoolers have them attached to their lunchboxes, my new mommies attach them to their diapers bags with an image of new baby, and my family session parents order two – one for mom and one for dad, both attaching one tag with an image of the family or just the kids to their laptop bags.    I’ve had so many clients thank me for this product because it’s such a conversation piece.    There’s nothing like sitting in a meeting and setting down your laptop bag only to have the person next to you notice a stunning picture of you and your family and compliment your spouse and kids – it will make your day!

I have even had a few requests that I include full name and address to make these into luggage tags!     Absolutely, I can include any text you would like in a traditional font or something more whimsical.     The clients who asked me to make the luggage tags got the idea from my original blog post about this product when I mentioned that I had made one into a luggage tag for my ever-traveling husband, using an image of our daughter and including his name and email address -  and he’s had it tethered to his suitcase ever since.      Since updating my bagtag studio samples recently, I made a new luggage tag for my husband (our daughter has grown and changed so much since I made the first one) but he said he is reluctant to take the old one off because of the “sentimental value”!!   Awwww:)

The bagtags come with your image printed on a thick plastic white backing and a clear elastic tether.     And when I say they are cost effective, I really mean it.    Ordering two is recommended because you will receive your second bagtag (it can be the same or a different image) at 25% off!

Again, I can only design these from the images that I shoot for you, so after your session you will have the option to order these as well as ANY item in my Studio Boutique… I try to offer you the best combination of design work and high end products that you will be happy with and cherish for years.

Oh and let’s not forget the picture of those tags!     I’m happy to bring this or any Studio Boutique sample to show you in person – sometimes you need to see and feel a product to decide, and it’s never an inconvenience for me to show you anything, so please do not hesitate to set up an appointment with me to take a look.

Metal Ornament Prints {Pleasanton Family & Child Photographer} Artistic Captures Photography & Design

A few months ago, I posted a sample of a 16X20 metal print that was mounted to a wood standout – a great boutique item that looks great on your wall or sitting in an art easal!    This is a different version of that product.      This is also a metal print but it’s not mounted.    Rather, it’s just the metal without any type of mounting.      What’s so cool about these metal prints is that they can be ordered in different sizes and shapes… my studio samples show my personal favorite shapes.      Since they are not mounted, that raises the question, what do you do with them?     They aren’t really suitable for framing so they either need to be sitting in an art easal, leaned up against something maybe on a dresser, or another option which I personally like a whole lot more.

The vendor I work with will drill holes into the metal and send them with a black ribbon so that you can dangle your metal prints from a cabinet, doorway, or dresser drawer knob.     Just about anywhere that you want to have it hang from!      Think of these like ornaments that aren’t just for Christmas.      They are a fun way to display your images in a totally unique way.

The metal that is used is super high quality, and your images will look gorgeous printed on them.     The hardest part is deciding what size and shape to order.     Shown below are sizes 5X7 and 5X5.      I like these in the smaller sizes because it’s easy to find places to hang them.    I actually have one hanging from the inside handle of our front door – so when visitors leave our home, they see it and always comment on it.

And here you go, two studio samples for you to see, but as always I am happy to show you in person.    I get many inquiries from people asking if I can make studio boutique products from their images;   I only design and create boutique products from images from sessions with my clients, and all it takes is setting up a session with me.    If you love my studio boutique products, you will love seeing your images from our session on them:)

(This last image above shows the thickness of the metal print – to call it a print is really a misnomer.    It’s a heavy metal that will last a lifetime)

Rockin’ To Her Own Beat {Pleasanton & Danville Child Portrait Photographer} Artistic Captures Photography

I really, really love this age.    It’s just about the best age to do your 1 year pictures.    Little Miss R is just slightly OLDER than 1 years old.   I know most clients really like to have those 1 year pictures done slightly before or right at the 1 year mark but I encourage clients to wait until 14 months to do them.    That’s right, technically you are not doing your child’s 1 year pictures, but that 8 weeks will make all the difference in the world when it comes to posing, cooperation, and endurance.      So if you have the flexibility and can wait it out, I really do encourage you to allow me to shoot your 1 year old’s pictures at 14 months (or even at 13 months will help).

This the second time I have shot little “R” – the last time she was only 5 months old and just a pleasure to work with.     We had her session wrapped up in less than 30 minutes.    She was alllll smiles and sunshine!    This time was no different, save for a slight fall on the concrete in which she skinned her knee just a bit, poor thing.     But within minutes she was back to her bubbly self.      Ahhh, the dangers of running in cowgirl boots.   They do look smashing on her though!

Sorry for the super brief preview, I wish it could be longer, but I am currently editing a few sessions as well as adding to my Studio Boutique product line.    Lots of great stuff will start appearing on this blog really soon.     And, I have converted my price list and welcome packet to a hardcopy format that I can send to you in the mail (it can still be emailed but the hardcopy version is just so much nicer and I think more convenient to view at your fingertips rather than on a computer screen)… this will be ready just in time to send out prior to your holiday sessions.     It’s something I’m super excited about!      Both the welcome packet and the price lists make everything so simple, you will have a very easy time navigating your session info.

And now, on to the fun stuff!    Again, sorry for so few images in the preview, but my previews will get longer again soon.    Don’t forget to schedule your holiday session as soon as possible.  Several dates in October are already taken and those weekend spots go reallllly fast.

(Above I think we have a girl after my own heart:  a future photographer here!)

To book your newborn, child, family, maternity, teen or senior session, please contact Dayna Titus of Artistic Captures Photography at artisticcaptures@comcast.net or 925.922.4670.
